Help my website designer disappeared!
Unfortunately we have been hearing this complaint a lot. No return phone calls and unanswered emails. Gone, gone, gone.
Recently we had a call from a business owner who had been having trouble getting a hold of his website designer. It turns out the designer had not returned calls because he decided to take 3 months off for his new baby. No notice and no delegation plans for his clients. I wonder how many of his clients thought he had went out of business.
Whether a website designer changes their business focus or simply have gone out of business, this becomes a huge problem for the small business owner when then need their websites maintained or upgraded. Maybe it is time to change to a website designer who focuses on continuing customer relationships.
Website Assessment
What are your website goals? Do you need a few content or design changes? Does the current site meet your sales expectations. This is the perfect time to reevaluate your website and an assessment is in order. We look inside the “hood” to see if your current website has the functionality you need to meet your expectations. Then you have the information you need to decide if you need revisions, revamping, or a new website.
Affinity for Design offers a free website assessment video which will help you with your decision.
Rebuild vs Revise
Your decision will depend on two things:
- What is the state of your current website and does it meet your sales goals.
- What revisions and functionality do you want to incorporate to motivate your visitors to action.
Whether you decide your website needs revisions or it should be scrapped altogether, it is important to know what your website goals are and whether the current website can handle those needs. If your current website meets current standards, a few small revisions may be all that is needed.
